Then please join dynamic conductor Jamie Kirsch, Director of Choral Activities at Tufts University, one half hour before each concert to get a music insider’s perspective on the evening’s program. Dr. Kirsch will offer historical insights, listening tips, and a context for the music being performed, all delivered with the wit and passion of a certified lifetime choral music fanatic.

Jamie’s perspective will inform and enhance your appreciation of Masterworks Chorale's performance whether you have spent ten years in concert halls or just ten minutes. And with Jamie’s personable, common sense speaking style, what may have seemed simply beautiful will now also seem simply understandable as well.

About Jamie Kirsch

Jamie Kirsch is Director of Choral Activities at Tufts University, and Music Director of the 120-voice Cambridge Community Chorus. From 2009-11 he was Director of Children’s Choruses at New England Conservatory, and from 2006-08 he served on the faculty of the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where he was Interim Director of Choral Activities (2007-08). Kirsch completed the Doctor of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Indiana University in May 2008. He also holds degrees from the Yale School of Music and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A native of Merrick, New York, Kirsch lives in Medford with his wife, Diana Lemly, their daughter Amelia, and their wheaten terrier Madigan.
