On May 19, Masterworks Chorale will host its Annual Meeting and 75th Year Celebration in the Ballroom at Hanscom Air Force Base. The event will start at 6:00 pm with a cash bar, followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30. A brief Annual Meeting and speakers will follow dinner. The cost will be $40 per person, and we ask you to confirm your reservation by May 1. You can email info@MasterworksChorale.org to RSVP (please note that Hanscom security requires a date of birth for each attendee). Suggested attire: jacket and tie, formal optional.
About the Ballroom at Hanscom
The Ballroom is in the Minuteman Commons building within Hanscom Air Force Base. We chose the Ballroom because it is an attractive room -- at a very attractive rental cost, low enough to permit us to charge only $40 per person.
Who is invited
All current and past members of Masterworks Chorale and their spouses or significant others are invited, along with some special guests and major donors. We will have printed postcard invitations to distribute at Tuesday's rehearsal.
Events for the evening
Following our buffet dinner, Sandy Shepard, our president, will conduct our Annual Meeting, in which new Board members will be elected. As is typical in our Annual Meetings, the floor will be open to members who wish to speak or raise topics. After the meeting, we will hear remarks from Sandy, Steven, and other well-wishers.
Security arrangements for the gate at Hanscom
Hanscom Air Force Base, as a government military installation, has security requirements. When you confirm your reservation to attend, you will need to provide your date of birth along with your name. Hanscom Security has to make sure your name is not on any list of unwanted individuals (similar to what happens when you buy an airline ticket and board a plane). Birth date information will be kept confidential. When you arrive at the gate, you will be asked for your name and then to show a photo ID, such as your driver's license.
We need the names of former Chorale members and friends
Do you know of any former Chorale members or major donors who might like to attend? We will have an "Alumni Invitees" sign-up sheet on the tables at rehearsal, where you can suggest the names and addresses of former members. We will also have extra printed postcard invitations available for you to mail on your own.
